Money, Sex, Fame, Health, Self and Yoga Meditation

From: www.swamij.com http Everybody wants happiness. However, we usually seek it in ways that are dependent on external stimulus, as if an outer cause leads to an inner effect of happiness. Surely this process of stimulus-response works to some degree; we have all experienced this in different ways, where getting what we want seems to make us feel good, and not getting what we want seems to make us feel bad. However, what if we knew how to be happy without any stimulus whatsoever? What if you could just rest in the deepest feeling of joy, regardless of the external circumstances?

great:)
I’ve listened this video several times, mind is very tricky indeed, I take many learnings from this video. Now I am able to know when my ego is trying to reign myself.
Thank you very much for this video. i… man, i just thinks its pure wisdom. i hope to gain more understanding on this concept in the near future.
beautifully said. SUBSCRIBED!
When the Secret came out, I hoped it would use people’s ego drives to make them explore meditation. After all, it takes meditative practice for most people to effectively visualize. And the amount of discipline needed to start meditation is too much for most, when there is no promise of ego satisfaction. Too bad it did not turn out that way. Everyone just wants to try to think positive thoughts all the time. Good luck with that.
WEll said, almost lost me in the middle of the slide but at the end it made some sense
very helpful.

The con of “The Secret” is that it can’t be disproved. It is, as Karl Popper said, nonfalsifiable. Even if it failed for Everyone, even those who worked it really hard, the claim would be they didn’t work it hard enough. You really aren’t going to get “unexpected checks in the mail” unless someone owes you money - and maybe not then ;’)
Thank you for this insightful message.
Great response to the spiritually and environmentally bankrupt message of “The Secret”. How about living simply so that others can simply live. And as all true spiritual teachers point out, lasting happiness cannot be found through what is impermanent and subject to death and decay. What does that leave? the Joy of Equanimity and Love for God and Others. Intention is powerful, use it to aspire to the highest good.
Thanks for a well needed message. I think the same when I see that all people want to attract is money. What’s worse is so-called gurus using promises of wealth to attract followers.
Great! Nice narration. Balance and Equalibrium. Excessive Wealth is Toxic to The Brain !
